Makeup Removing

It's Friday today and I know that some of us girls love to head out after work for parties or just chilling out with friends. But after a long day, our makeup had stayed on our face for so long!

So what our skin deserve is to be fresh and clean. So I'm going to introduce 3 products that I use to remove my make up.

From left to right:

1. Origins Well Off Fast and Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
2. Kose Cosmeport Speedy Cleansing Oil
3. The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser

Removing makeup has become so important in my life especially when I'm obsessed with healthy skin. I love a clean and fresh face to go to bed in so my pores wouldn't get clogged up, causing breakouts.

The Origins Well Off Fast and Gentle Eye Makeup Remover was actually a gift I received from my auntie who is an Origins brand lover. I have never used Origins in my life. Since they don't sell their products here in Perth, I have never actually got the chance to try any of their products. I am so grateful that I was introduced to this makeup remover because it is seriously the best eye makeup remover I've used.

The formula is actually clear and runny just like water. Unlike some water form makeup remover in the market, it is super efficient at melting makeup. I love how the formula doesn't sting your eyes or leave your skin feeling sticky and uncomfortable. However, I find it just a little bit pricey (60RM) for a makeup remover. Though, it is 150mL for a bottle and will take a long time to finish.

I would pour a small amount of makeup remover on a cotton pad, and just gently press it against my eyelids to get all the eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara off. It work wonders!

I just love the fact that you didn't have rub and tug at your eyes just to get all of the makeup off. For the areas that are more difficult to get makeup off, I would use a cotton tip instead of the cotton pad. I would dip it into the makeup remover and just very gently swipe it along the areas like my upper/bottom waterline.

Usually by then, my eye area will just be very very clean!

Moving on the face area, I like using an oil-based makeup remover to remove makeup on my face. Kose Cosmeport Speedy Cleansing Oil is the remover I use. I love this product because it is very affordable (I bought it from sasa.com for US$13 a 230mL bottle and 170mL refill).

I would pump a small amount of the product on my palm and just rub my palms together and massage it into my face. It's a really quick and easy way to remove makeup without using a cotton pad. After a few minutes of massage, I would rinse off the makeup remover with water until it's clean. By then, my face will feel squeaky clean.

However, there are times where I feel like I needed something a little more extra especially on days where I have heavy makeup/foundation on. I would then go on to use The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser. I love using this cleanser after removing makeup because it can instantly hydrate my skin with Vitamin E and it just smell so pleasant.

It is also nice when you just got home in the middle of the day and it's not exactly time for you to do your daily skincare routine. But at the same time, you want your face to be fresh, clean and hydrated enough until the end of the day. That's the time when I would use my cream cleanser. I love the creamy consistency of this cleanser because it doesn't dry out your skin and at the same time, you don't really need moisturiser after you have used the cleanser.

So after a long day at work, and long night at partying, removing makeup for me is just so relaxing and therapeutic (okay, maybe it's just me and that's not for everyone!). With a clean and refreshed face, you can go on and take a long, warm shower, do your daily skincare routine and then hop onto your cosy bed and fall asleep.

Isn't that just so awesome?

Just remember, makeup removing is very very important. So do it right and healthy skin will definitely come your way.

Stay beautiful! :]

Korean stars are beautiful!

Sorry guys! I have been pretty lazy this week so I haven't really done much with writing reviews. But I did have a huge parcel that came through the mail the other day and I bought so much skincare products! There will soon be reviews on facial masks (because winter is coming~) and other specialised products.

The other day, while I was on Skype video call with my friend, she was busy doing her make up. I was actually quite tempted work some magic on my face to entertain myself. So I asked her what she would like to see. She decided that I should try and mimic "korean" makeup.

So, I went and did a tiny research on korean stars

Goo Hye Sun from "Boys Before Flowers"

Park Shin Hye from "You're Beautiful"

Park Bom from 2NE1

SoHee from Wonder Girls

First of all, they're all so pretty!!

I think korean makeup focuses on flawless skin and bold eyeliner. Dumping some of the older rules in my makeup book, I decided to just try out this look and hope for the best XD

This is how I would normally wear my make up...

Some eyeshadow, thin eyeliner and nude lips.

But after trying out the korean look...

Bold eyeliner (both at the upper and bottom lashline) with a more noticable wing, flawless skin and slightly bolder lip colour, barely there blush.

Honestly, compared to the normal makeup look, this does looks so much better!

I'm definitely gonna be wearing this korean look more often XD

Btw, if you haven't noticed, I had a fringe trim! :]

Simple Everyday Makeup

Are you going to work? Going to school? Do you feel like going out loads of makeup on makes you look too dramatic? But do you feel like going out makeup-less is like a plain and boring canvas without any painting on it?

I think the best part about make up is that we can paint our own canvas and mould it into any look that we want. We can look dramatically enchanting or just bare natural effortlessly beautiful.

It is so important that even if we don't put on much make up, we can still enhance the features on our face so that we look awake, refreshed and ready for the day.

I usually start off my day with my IQQU advanced sunscreen but I like to change my style everyday so for this look, I decided to just go with a BB cream that already contains SPF25.

Skin79 Hot Pink Super Beblesh Balm Triple Function BB Cream

This is definitely one of my favourite BB creams in the market because it contains so many functions all in one: Whitening, UV protection and Wrinkle free. It provides excellent coverage especially for people with larger pores.

What I find with most BB creams is that their consistency actually feels heavier than foundations. So after applying BB creams, I like to spray on some water on my face and pat it to thin it out and also set the BB cream.

After BB cream, I would put on very little concealer to cover up some of the blemishes I have.

Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer

I love this concealer because the colour is really suitable for my pale skin. It has a light texture which may not 100% cover all the blemishes and dark circles but it does lighten up your blemishes and also make your face look natural without it being 100% flawless - cause that's what we aim for in simple makeup.

You may go ahead with applying some loose powder to set your foundation and concealer.

As for my eyes, I don't like to leave it "uncoloured" but I do not want too much colours on it. So I settled for the neural tones.

I have recently fallen in love with NYX jumbo eye pencil because they are so convenient and easy to use! The white colour can be used on the inner corners of your eyes, the bottom of your eyebrow to open up with your eyes. The brown can be used as a neural tone base colour on your eyelids and the black can be used in the outer corner of your eyelid crease to define your eyes.

They have such a wide selection of colours to choose from and they're really blendable, workable and just so versatile in many ways.

I am someone who simply cannot leave without my eyeliners.

For a simple look, I love using liquid eyeliners so I settled for Almay black liquid liner. The way you apply your eyeliner can really change the way you look. For a simple look, I like to apply it closest to the lashline. I also like to create a slight flick at the end for a more defined eye shape and to make me look more awake.

In addition, I also like to tightline my eyes with a pencil liner as it makes my lashes look fuller.

Finishing off the eye makeup with your eyelash curler and mascara.

Blush is also very important. It may look like we already have packed on so many things on our face but blush is one of the most important beauty essentials in makeup.

MAC powder blush

Rosy cheeks show that you're healthy, glowing and ready for anything. It can really make a huge difference in your makeup.

Last but not least, apply lip balm. I actually like a little tint of colour on my lips too so I settled for The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry Lipbalm.

And with all these, we have finished our simple makeup for the day! You're just about ready to throw on a t-shirt and shorts to go out :]

Final product:

And remember, the best accessories that goes with this simple make up is what you wear or how you do your hair, it is the confident smile on your face <3

Tired looking eyes?

It is sooooo important to look after our eyes especially the area under our eyes. The skin under our eyes is really delicate and requires a lot of love and care. There is no oil secreting glands under our eyes so it's important to constantly give it lots of moisture by applying eye creams everyday and using eye mask at least once a week.

I stayed up pretty late last night chatting to a friend and ended up going to bed at 4am! In the morning, I had to wake up at 9.30am to go to an appointment too. Other than not getting enough sleep and feeling tired, my eyes was puffy and dull.

In addition, I actually went out and only got back home at about 5pm or so to get some rest. Other than the need to get a power nap, I was hoping to fix that dull, tiring look and puffy eyes.

So I decided to put on my trusty eye mask while taking my power nap XD

Hisamitsu Lifecella Essence Sheet Mask for eyes

This is possibly one of the best eye mask I've used and purchased so far. It's the last piece of the last box!

Price: US$6.00 for 5 pieces (from sasa)

Sasa is now having a promotion where you can buy 4 packets of this eye mask and receive a pack free. I've already stocked up my eye masks and they're currently being shipped over to my house.

I am ready to put on my eye mask!

The mask itself is really cooling and hydrating (but I little bit sticky). I love how well it fits the eye area in the way that it targets not just under the eyes but also on the outer corners of the eye which can easily produce wrinkles.

I just left that on while I take my 15 minutes beauty nap (okay, maybe I did nap for more than 15 minutes because by the time I took them off, it was already dark outside LOL).

All fresh and recharged! Sorry for the different lighting because I could take photos with natural light before the sunset but when I woke up, it was already dark outside so I had to take photos while facing the room light.

I could instantly feel refreshed from my power nap (of course) and my eyes was hydrated and less puffy. The eye mask brightened up my area under my eyes too so I looked so much less tired than before.

People often say that the eyes is like the soul of your body. Without a pair of refreshed and happy looking eyes, your whole appearance will look tired and unhappy. It is always a good time to start looking after your eyes so do it now! Give them lots of loving :]

The three lipstick colours every girl should own!

When doing makeup, every component is important to complete the look. Some of us girls make one very common mistake - not putting on lip colour/lip stick/lip balm/lip gloss.

Of course, lip balm can moisturise your lips and should be used everyday to prevent your lips from getting dry and flaky. With dry, cracked or flaky lips, it is impossible for us to put on lipstick to enhance the whole makeup look.

Today, I will be reviewing the NYX Round Lipsticks and in addition, show you all which three colour lipsticks every girl should own in their basic make up collection!

Colours from left to right: Mute, Paris, Hebe

Size: 4g / 0.14 oz

Price: US$4.00 each on the NYX website

Consistency: Creamy and really easy to slide on your lips

Smell: Sweet, frangant smell (remember that it must smell nice to me, but not necessarily nice to you!)

Pros: I really love the wide selection of lipstick colours NYX have. They are good quality, cheap and affordable lipsticks which slides on your lips really easily. The colours are pigmented and doesn't smudge on your lips.

Cons: However, I found it difficult to to buy the colours online because I couldnt try it on my lips and see how it looks like. The colours I received is also slightly different from the colour sample they put up online. I also find it difficult to remove it after.

Moving on to the three lipstick colours every girl should own...

1) Nude colour

When you have dramatic eye makeup on, you do not want bright lipstick colour to overpower your eyes. Hence, a nude lipstick colour will be perfect to enhance your eyes. Because our lip colour is different to our skin colour, the aim is to find a lip colour that is similar to your skin colour so your lips look "nude" and non coloured without looking pale.

2) Pink/purple colour

Pink and purple is such a fun colour when it comes to natural, barely there or everyday makeup. Pink will create a more girly look while purple can make you look chic. You can also find a lipstick with a tint of both colours to achieve both girly and chic look. These two colours can add some nice natural colour to your face when you have little makeup on.

3) Red colour

Red is a sexy, mysterious and seductive colour. When wearing this colour on your lips, ensure that your eye makeup is not too heavy, otherwise your lips will definitely be too overpowering. If you have heavy eye makeup and red lips, you might look like you're having too much makeup on. Red lipsticks can also be paired with a really nice red skirt. Wearing red lipstick is like wearing red accessories, except they're not on your ears, neck or wrist but on your face. It emphasise on your bold and sexy character.

I would recommend that for each lip colour you're considering of buying, you should try them on your lips to see if it suits your skintone. Of course, you don't always have to buy the most expensive lip colour brand to achieve the look you want to get. NYX is definitely a brand that I would recommend because it is cheap, affordable and definitely of high quality.

Manly Pro 120 Colour Eyeshadow Makeup Palette!

About 2 weeks ago, a friend of mine was telling me about how one of her friends bought a 120 eyeshadow palette on eBay for a super cheap price. She also told me that she borrowed it for some of her makeup photoshoot and they are really good quality eyeshadows.

Hence, I decided to buy myself one and try them out. I searched through the eBay site and found one of these...

I was attracted straightaway by the huge selection of colours and the price!!

It was AU$7.99 for the product itself and AU$13.00 for shipping and handling. So it was $20.99 altogether!

So 1 week later, it came in the mail...

It was really well packaged with lots of bubble wrap by the seller to prevent any of the palette being loose. Wouldn't it be sad when your palette arrives and it was destroyed by one loose/broken palette?

Mine came in perfectly fine. The colours are soooooo pretty and pigmented too! Looks exactly like the picture shown on eBay :]

So one happy customer decided to experiment with this makeup palette...

And so, I decided to do a mysterious and elegant look with my very first palette and this is how it turned out to be...

Contact lens: Freshlook One-Day Colour Contact Lenses in Colourblends Gray

I must say that despite the price of the product, it is pigmented and of good quality. So if you're just starting out with makeup art and you wanna extend your eyeshadow colours without having to spend hundreds on really expensive brands, I would recommend this.

You can look for it anywhere on the eBay website but this is where I bought mine from.

Just don't forget to remove all your makeup completely after though! Have fun with it :]
