It IS possible, but it takes some time, effort and a little bit of luck. Of course, some people are born with the most beautiful skin but we don't have to be envious.
Let me teach you all a few tips to getting clearer skin.
1. Dark circles and eyebags
Packing on loads of concealer isn't really gonna work as you get older because wrinkles will start to show and the concealer will emphasize on that eventually. So the best way is to help reduce the dark circles and puffiness under our eyes.
Keep in mind that the skin under our eyes are VERY delicate. So, the first thing you need to do is to stop rubbing your eyes! I know, that's a common bad habit everyone have. We rub our eyes when we're tired or when we wake up in the morning. But rubbing your eyes will increase the chances of producing premature wrinkles!
Dark circles are usually present because some of us doesn't have enough sleep. You need at least 8 hours of sleep every night. They call it beauty sleep for a reason, right? But it's not just that. I have been sleeping very very late these days and I always have plenty of sleep. But dark circles started to show a little these days. So to prevent or cure dark circles in a more efficient way, you have to sleep early and sleep enough.
Eyebags are pretty easy to treat. There are several ways to help treat them. There are plenty of eye creams on the market that are specifically made for anti-puffiness and redness. Some of us don't include eye cream as part of the basic facial routine in the morning. But starting out young will make a difference in the future. Eyebags can also accumulate when we drink water before we go to bed. After we go to bed, our lying down position will encourage water to flow back to your face and under your eyes. Hence, you will wake up with puffy bags AND puffy face!
2. Pimples and blemishes
Some of us are lucky but some of us are not. Some of us get pimples because of our hormones which we can't control. But others can. The amount of pimples actually can show how hygienic you are when it comes to skincare and cosmetics.
It is important that we store our skincare products properly to prevent bacteria growth! I know some of us have the habit of storing our skincare straight in the bathroom. When we shower, the steam and heat from the warm water will create a good environment for bacteria to grow in our skincare products! Hence, I would always leave and apply my skincare products (besides cleansing) in my room rather than bathroom.
As for cosmetics, remember to replace some of the older products which might already have bacteria growth on it. Wash your makeup brushes regularly. Keep our cosmetics off areas with direct sunlight.
A product that can be used to prevent pimples is the IQQU acne serum which I reviewed on earlier.
The best way to treat pimples is to keep our hands away from your face and the area of infection. Our hands are always filled with bacteria from touching things around us. Avoid popping the pimples too because it can cause scars and blemishes. It is best to let it dry out on its own and a pimple cream/gel can be useful to speed up that process.
If you have already produce a lot of blemishes from the pimples (a lot of us do because we're humans and we don't follow the rules!) then the best way to get rid of it is to wait. Your skin will regenerate regularly so new skin layers will always be producing and the dead skin cells will be removed from the surface. Hence, our blemishes spot will fade away. To help regenerate your skin quicker, you can exfoliate your skin twice a week with Cure aqua gel which I reviewed on earlier. Of course, you can use other exfoliating products but Cure aqua gel is very gentle on your skin. Keep in mind that exfoliating more often than you should will create irritation and breakouts on your skin!
3. Dry/oily skin
I tend to have dry skin in winter and oily skin in summer. Everyone is different because we all have different skin. Hence, you need to experiment on different products to see what suits your skin the best.
However, there is a few tips you can follow when choosing your skincare products for different skin types (other than actually looking at the label which tells you what skin types the product is used for).
For people with dry skin, stick to cleansing creams (they're more hydrating), skip toners and using a very hydrating cream. You can also use hydrating sheet masks once a week to treat your skin. Picture below showing the awesome My Beauty Diary Cherry Blossom Mask :]
For people with oily skin, you need a foaming cleansing (removes oil and dirt), refreshing toner or mist and lotion or cream (depending on which one feels better on your skin). Avoid using sheet masks that is too hydrating for your skin. Instead, try our some mud or charcoal mask which are made for removing dirt and oil from your pores.
Finally, the last tip I can give to improve your skin overall is to drink lots of water. To have beautiful skin we need to have a healthy body. So next time when someone ask you what you want to drink, tell them "Water please!"
